Vanderpuye Slater

Temporary construction staff for London sites.

Vanderpuye Slater is a construction recruitment agency based in London. We supply labourers, skilled trades, plant operators and site staff to contractors across the capital, usually within a day of your call.

Every worker goes out CSCS-carded and right-to-work checked. Most confirmed orders start the same week.

Labour is the problem nobody on site has time to solve.

Ask anyone running a London project what keeps the programme awake at night and the answer is rarely materials or weather. It is people.

A gang that fails to show at 7am costs the day. A ticketed operator who leaves mid-package costs the week. And the people expected to fix it, site managers, HR teams and talent acquisition, are already carrying a full-time job of their own.

The 6am headcount problem

Short gangs mean resequencing the day before it starts. Chasing agencies from the site office eats the hours meant for running the build.

Compliance without the paperwork war

Cards, tickets, right to work and insurances for a workforce that changes weekly. One missed document is an audit finding or worse.

A market with no bench

Good tradespeople are booked out months ahead. Job boards return the same CVs every week while the programme date stays exactly where it was.

Who we supply

We keep a bench of checked, carded workers across the roles a live site needs, from groundworks through to final fix.

01

General labour

CSCS-carded labourers for site clearance, material distribution, gate work and day-to-day site operations.

02

Skilled trades

Carpenters, bricklayers, dryliners, plasterers and painters. Each one is trade-tested before we send them to a site.

03

Groundworks and civils

Groundworkers, machine drivers, banksmen and full gangs for drainage, foundations, RC frames and external works.

04

Plant operators

CPCS and NPORS ticketed operators for excavators, dumpers, rollers and telehandlers. We verify tickets before placement.

05

Site management

SMSTS site managers, SSSTS supervisors and traffic marshals to keep programmes moving and sites compliant.

06

M&E support

Electrical and mechanical mates, improvers and qualified support staff for fit-out and services packages.

How it works

Step 1

Tell us the job

Trade, headcount, start date and site postcode. A two-minute phone call or a short message is enough to get us moving.

Step 2

We match and check

We pick from workers we know personally. Cards, tickets and right to work are verified and references confirmed before anyone is put forward.

Step 3

They start on site

Inducted, briefed and on the gate, usually within 24 hours. We call the site on day one and stay in touch for the whole placement.

The morning it goes right instead.

The version of 7am we sell: the gang you ordered walks through the gate, inducted, carded and briefed, and the day runs to programme. That picture is the whole business.

About us

We spent twenty years filling London sites for other people's agencies. In 2026 we took over Vanderpuye & Slater and now run it ourselves.

That time on the phones and on the gates taught us which workers turn up, which tickets actually matter, and what a project manager needs at 6am when a gang is missing.

The company itself has been on the register since 2013. We bought it as a going concern and kept the name, so you get an established business with new hands on it, and the two of us handling every account directly.

Workers we know

Our bench comes from twenty years of working relationships. Anyone new to us is interviewed, referenced and checked before they go out under our name.

Compliance in order

CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, right to work and insurances are verified before placement and documented for your commercial team.

A direct line

You deal with the owners. If something goes wrong at 6am, call us and we sort it before it costs you the day.

Clear rates

Charge rates are agreed in writing up front and stay where we agreed them for the length of the placement.
